WelTel Inc. is pleased to announce we have been selected to participate in a new Amazon Web Services (AWS) program supporting organizations that are developing solutions to advance health equity.

Through the program, AWS provides promotional credits and technical expertise worth up to $250,000 to companies and organizations developing cloud solutions to improve health outcomes and equity in one of three areas: 

• Increase access to health services
• Reduce disparities by addressing social determinants to health
• Leverage data to promote equitable and inclusive systems of care

“We are so excited that our application was successful,” said WelTel co-founder and CEO Gabby Serafini. “We look forward to working with AWS to provide equitable access to quality health care for the world’s underserved communities.”

With a company mission to support health and language equity and a vision that ensures no person is left behind, it was difficult for the WelTel team to narrow their ask to just one program area. 

So they submitted two applications — and were successful on both counts:

• AWS will work with WelTel to develop additional functionality to expand reach and access for Indigenous communities in North America, and 
• build new features to support culturally safe digital health communication outreach for Maori communities in New Zealand.
